Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be supporting a dynamic and forward-thinking business in Dumbarton as they grow their Technical Team. We’re looking for a Design Control Systems Engineer to help deliver a range of exciting automation projects across global markets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and developing electrical control systems and panels
Creating PLC programs and HMI graphics (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
Producing E&I circuit drawings using industry-standard CAD tools (experience with EPlan or ELCAD a bonus)
Developing communication protocols: ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet
Collaborating with internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
Testing control systems and panels in-house before deployment
Supporting on-site commissioning and customer meetings (travel ~25%)
Troubleshooting faults and interpreting legacy PLC code
Delivering accurate technical documentation and supporting product development
What We’re Looking For:
Professional electrical qualification: HNC or above in Electrical or Engineering discipline
Strong background in control systems, automation, and PLC programming
Proven experience in a project engineering environment
Ability to interpret customer specifications and deliver technical solutions
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail
Willingness to travel internationally as part of project delivery (approx. 25%)
