Location: Primary School | Hampstead, London NW
Contract: Term-Time Only (39 weeks per year)
Hours: 35 hours per week | Monday – Friday | Daytime only
The Opportunity
Pineapple Recruitment is working exclusively with a leading, quality-focused contract caterer to recruit a talented Chef de Partie for a prestigious primary school in the Hampstead area.
This is the perfect role for a passionate chef who values high-quality, fresh ingredients but is looking for a superior work-life balance. Working term-time only with no weekends, you will support the kitchen leadership in delivering nutritious, innovative, and delicious meals to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal dishes for daily school service and occasional high-profile hospitality events.
Section Management: Take full ownership of your designated section, ensuring all food production meets the high standards of presentation and consistency expected by the school.
Menu Support: Assist the Chef Manager in developing creative, nutritious menus that reflect modern food trends and seasonal produce.
Compliance & Safety: Maintain 5-star standards in food hygiene and Health & Safety, ensuring all recording and auditing systems are kept up to date.
Stock Control: Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and minimising wastage to support kitchen budget targets.
What Our Client Is Looking For
Experience: A solid background as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef, ideally within a high-volume fresh food environment or education catering.
Foodie Passion: A genuine love for working with fresh, raw ingredients and a drive to deliver outstanding food to young people.
Reliability: A disciplined professional who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Qualifications: Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is essential (Level 3 is desirable), along with relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a professional manner when interacting with school staff and pupils.
